It was an eventful morning breakfast at the Pan Pacific Hotel, hosted by WAtoday.com.au and Via Appia Networking WA. A ballroom filled with talented, successful business owners and fellow entrepreneurs, with big dreams, goals and ideas. Designz by Jamz was not only nominated, however was short-listed for the Female Entrepreneur category of the WAtoday.com.au Entrepreneur and Innovator Awards. The event commenced with light refreshments and networking amongst the room, followed by a panel discussion by four, very successful business owners; Michael Malone, founder of iiNet, Dale Alcock of Dale Alcock Homes, Patricia Jafferies, co-founder of Dome Coffees and Rick Hart, founder of Rick Hart. Inspiration and hope certainly filled the atmosphere after hearing the stories and initial struggles of starting up their own businesses — fellow entrepreneurs must remember that they are not alone! Consistency, perseverance, commitment, innovation and hard work ethic are just a few of the key elements required in an entrepreneur’s character.
Although Designz by Jamz did not win on paper, we were certainly winners in spirit — to be short-listed and recognised for the hard efforts and growth of the business, is an achievement in itself, especially when you are up against such amazing businesses and business owners. What an experience!
